I was on I 80 going eastbound towards Nevada at roughly 2200 at night
when I saw lights in an oval to rectangular shape floating just above
the mountains to the south of me. I noticed that it had around a dozen
or so lights around the edge of it slowly changing colors from a golden
to blues and the like. It didn't appear to be moving. I told my teammate
what I had seen but she couldn't see it.
I had stopped at a truck chain up area to see if I could get a better look at what I saw but due to the trees I couldn't see it. This chain up area is about 6 miles west of the rest area at mile marker 177.
When I got out of my truck I got the very distinctive feeling something was in the woods very close to me and I got back into my truck quickly and locked the doors. As it was time for me and my teammate to swap out, we decided to do it there and quickly because we both got the feeling something was wrong.
We felt like we were being watched and it felt like something was about to come up to the truck and peek into the window. We quickly left and not even 10 miles later we saw a focused beam of light that if my teammate hadn't hit the brakes we most likely have been hit by it.
The beam I saw was blue white in color and a single beam. My teammate saw 3 beams that were icy blue and a single beam that was blue, green and white in an pattern like water.
